Mary Hirschfeld, Assistant Professor of Economics & Theology at Villanova University, gives a talk probing the state of the relationship between theology and economics. This talk was a keynote address at the Sixth Annual Conference on Economics and Catholic Social Thought held at the University of Chicago.

The Queen of the Netherlands is Argentinian; Messi is said to be the best soccer player in the world; and now el Papa es Francisco,” said Anna Bonta Moreland—born in Argentina and now Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at Villanova University—to an audience of over 250 in Mandel Hall at the University of Chicago.
On October 11th – the day the universal Church celebrated the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council – Fr. Edward Oakes, Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary, gave a lecture for the Lumen Christi Institute on the famously misinterpreted document Gaudium et spes, or the “Pastoral Constitution on the Modern World.”
