[Message from our Executive Director, Daniel Wasserman-Soler]

Dear friends,

We recently celebrated the feast of the Ascension. Christ’s departure from His apostles is described in the New Testament not as an occasion of mourning, but of joy. For He did not leave us alone.

Christ calls His followers into friendship with one another, so that they might seek His wisdom and His eternal life together.

I invite you to take part in Lumen Christi’s community of friends. Each person deepens our pursuit of truth.

This spring, we need 80 new donors, to reach our goal of 400 total donors this year. Every gift – of any size – sustains our mission.

By making a gift by June 30th, you will enrich a living community of thinkers—students, faculty, religious, and Catholic laity.

I want to share a reflection from one of our donors on the influence of the Lumen Christi community in her life:

Lumen Christi, by its very name, brings the light of Christ into every aspect of its mission. It enriches lives with the truth and beauty of our faith.

In addition to her own growth, she wanted to support those in most need of intellectual formation: students.

Lumen Christi plays an important role on the university campus by creating a space for undergraduates and graduate students to explore the richness of Catholic intellectual thought in ways that are not otherwise available. Supporting the impact that Lumen Christi has on young minds of our future innovators, academics, explorers and all students of a growth mindset is vitally important to me.

I am heartened to see how the members of our community nourish one another.

Looking back on this past year—from student reading groups and non-credit classes to public lectures and dinner discussions—I am struck by the many moments when students, faculty, and other members of our community encountered Christ in one another, as both teacher and friend.

Your gift will help sustain these life-giving encounters. Supporting the Lumen Christi community means supporting the formation of young people and the fellowship of those who seek Christ through the life of the mind.

I invite you to invest in Lumen Christi’s work today! Your gift sustains a living community of thinkers, deepening and broadening access to Christ’s wisdom.

Yours in Christ,

Daniel Wasserman-Soler
