Carlos Steel is Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven. His research is devoted to the Platonic tradition, with a particular emphasis on the philosophy of late antiquity and the thought of Proclus, a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher. He is also known for his critical editions of works of Proclus, Maximus Confessor, Johannes Scottus Eriugena, Averroes, and Albertus Magnus. Among his recent publications are Proclus. On the Existence of Evils and Proclus. On Providence and Fate.
