Carlos Steel is Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven. His research is devoted to the Platonic tradition, with a particular emphasis on the philosophy of late antiquity and the thought of Proclus, a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher. He is also known for his critical editions of works of Proclus, Maximus Confessor, Johannes Scottus Eriugena, Averroes, and Albertus Magnus. Among his recent publications are Proclus.
