[Message from our Executive Director, Daniel Wasserman-Soler]
Dear friends,
I hope you are enjoying a restful and fruitful summer!
Last July we set a bold goal, to grow Lumen Christi’s donor community to 400 members. I am thrilled to share that as of June 30, we have surpassed that goal. 417 members of our community stepped forward over the course of the academic year to support our students and faculty. Each gift helps increase our ability to provide access to Christ’s wisdom both through our current programs and the development of new ones. Today, I would like to thank each of you who gave!
I am truly humbled by the generosity of this community. What a gift to have so many friends dedicated to strengthening their own faith, and the faith of one another. What an encouraging sign as we head into our 30th year of programming!
I am heartened that as the attendees of our programs continue to increase in numbers, so many members of our community are willing to offer their generosity to Lumen Christi’s mission. That generosity comes from all sides of our community including students, faculty, religious, high school parents, and lay Catholics. As we look ahead to this fall, I am excited to see how Christ’s wisdom will continue to unite this community through fellowship and learning. I look forward to continuing Lumen Christi’s work with you–reintegrating the Catholic intellectual tradition into life at the University of Chicago and beyond!
