Greek New Testament Reading Group

Mondays, April 13-June 8, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Open to current University of Chicago students and faculty.

Led by Fr. Paul Mankowski, SJ, Lumen Christi's Scholar in Residence, this reading group will work through selections of the Greek New Testament on Mondays during lunch time.  The group will translate line-by-line, with Fr. Paul assisting and commenting on syntactical, grammatical, and theological points of interest.  There is no better way to brush up on one's Greek than to practice it!  All levels of Greek are welcome.

Fr. Mankowski will lead the group through the following selections in the following order: Mark 5, Luke 16, Matthew 25, John 18-20.

Latin Vulgate Reading Group

Fridays, April 17--June 12, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Open to current University of Chicago students and faculty.

Description: This student-led reading group will work through the Latin Psalms in a loose, line-by-line format.  For anyone with even a passing knowledge of Latin, this group will be a great opportunity to brush up on one's vocabulary and reading capacity.

Because of the uncertainties involved with scheduling the upcoming online quarter, please register your interest even if you have a time conflict. There is a chance we could reschedule to accommodate if need be.

Science and Faith Reading Group

Wednesdays, biweekly, April 15--June 10, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Open to current University of Chicago students and faculty.

Description: This participant-driven reading group will include flexible lunch-time discussions on various topics at the intersection of religion and science-- ranging from questions concerning the value of bodily health, to the use of modern technology.
